Steam and Rye and Mcbusted - a busy weekend

“Rules should always be bent, if not broken. It's the only way to have any fun.”
― Alyson NoelEvermore

This weekend I threw caution to the wind and loved it.
Friday night I went for drinks with friends, starting at Steam and Rye where I intended to try one of these amazing cocktails, but ending up inventing the gin pornstar martini (which, might I add, was delicious).

The bar has a cool theme, high ceilings and excellent bar staff.  It also has lots of city boys in suits flinging themselves about in the name of 'dance'….. I think perhaps you might have more fun if you reserve one of the cute 'first class' train carriages where you can people watch safe in the knowledge you won't get a drink thrown down your back by an overenthusiastic jiver.

The next time I looked at my watch it was almost 5am and I was in the casino in Leicester Square drinking champagne…not a bad night as nights go, but it hurt the next morning when I got up to meet a friend with a banging head and burning eyes!

By Saturday night, not revived but full of sugar and paracetamol I headed to the O2 to watch Mcbusted in action, courtesy of a lovely friend who works with the band.  We had the most amazing seats 6 rows from the front which pleased my guest no end. We danced, sang and jigged along to all of the hits.

Flying Saucer!

There was a back to the future car, a flying saucer and a whole lot of pop, we had such a great time although I was practically propping my eyes open by the end!  Hopefully you can get an idea of the show from these pics (I must confess I spent more time dancing that snapping so these aren't great).  Dougie was as usual full of banter and chat whilst Tom and Harry hardly said a word. I can't decide who's my fave - I think it might be Danny this time!

; line-height: 18px; text-align: center;">I love how much they seem to enjoy themselves and having been a supporter for the last 10 or so years it's lovely to see them doing so well.  Let's hope there's  another gig soon!
Sunday was much more chilled out, I had a huge lie in and then went to meet my friend with a dog for a walk and a gossip - the weather is terrible but we managed to catch up and give the dog a work out.

Hope you had a good weekend - what did you get up to? Did anyone else get to see McBusted?
