“A good snapshot keeps a moment from running away.”
― Eudora Welty

Now there's nothing I love more than a photo - especially one of me!
The rise of the selfie has been incredible since the launch of the two sided Iphone camera and now it's completely normal to snap a selfie of your face or outfit or even with a friend at a party, event....or on a bus as I witnessed two absolute grown ups doing the other day.

I am definitely guilty of taking the odd (frequent) selfie. It's so easy to do and always beats asking a stranger to take a pic of you pouting.   I suppose its slightly embarrassing being caught doing it, but that's a risk you have to take!
Most of my friends would absolutely join in but I do have one friend who professes never to have taken one, he's certainly been in a few with me!

There's even a song called 'Selfie' that has been released;

Celebrities have definitely contruibeted to the craze - Kim Kardashian is a massive advocate, although she seems to love a 'belfie' (selfie of her bum) as much as one of her face. Check out her bikini clad selfies here (

Over the last week or so there's been a charity fundraiser involving selfies (more about that here).
This wasn't actually started by Cancer Research, but they've certainly benefitted from it's popularity and apparently received donations of around £100,0000 in 24 hours after this craze went viral on Facebook and Twitter.  If you want to donate click here
Personally there's nothing that could make me post a bare faced selfie, I'd rather just donate straight off, but there you go. At least there's a positive benefit to being a selfie addict, which is great to know!

Do you love a selfie or are you a selfie cynic? Let me know
